LET’S KNIT A SWEATER TOGETHER!

Knitting is meant to be a communal activity. Let’s share in the process of starting and completing a sweater!

With opportunities to gather and knit both in-person and online, I’ll coach you through knitting a perfect spring sweater, The Alpine Bloom! Versatile, colorful & fun! She’s got it all!

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate; students should be comfortable knitting in the round.

LENGTH: April 1 - May 31, 2025. 4 in-person and 4 virtual gatherings will be offered over the course of the six weeks to provide skills, support, troubleshooting & community as we knit the Swoncho from start to finish.

WHAT’S PROVIDED:
-Up to 10 hours of instruction (in-person or online) plus “office hours” support from seasoned knitter Ashley Weeks Cart
- Pattern for the Alpine Bloom Sweater by Caitlin Hunter

SKILLS LEARNED:
- Gauge swatching and preparing to knit your sweater
- Magic Loop in the round for small circumference knitting
- Managing stranded colorwork
- Lacework for the collar, sleeves & hem
- Finishing and blocking your sweater

MATERIALS NEEDED:
-Yarn for the Alpine Bloom. Purchase a kit directly from Freia ($87-$134) or contact Ashley to help you source your yarn.
- Size 3 US 40” circular needles
- Size 4 US 40” circular needles
-Your notions kit: scissors, tapestry needle, stitch markers
